Friday News Roundup
March 23rd, 2007 by JonThe Detroit News’ Mike Glover writes about Mitt’s efforts to distance himself from the do-nothing whacked out sorry excuse for Salt Lake City’s Mayor Ross “Rocky†Anderson. I’m not sure there’s enough real estate in the nation to get far enough away from the Salt Lake City Laughing Stock. Anderson made his most recent attempt at the limelight by making a shrill, cracked voice call for the impeachment of the President. Anderson is an embarrassment to Salt Lake City and the state of Utah. Memo to Ross Anderson: Your 15 minutes are long since up. End of memo.
The De Moines Register’s Maggie O’Brien details Mitt’s comments on immigration and letting foreign students stay in the country after having finished their education. Best quote from the article:
Our immigration laws are upside down. It makes no sense at all that we have concrete borders with people who have skills and education, but we’re wide open to people who have neither.
Makes sense to me.
The Salt Lake Tribune’s Peggy Fletcher Stack interviews Blogfather Hugh as a part of his voice destroying book tour. The interview is fairly mundane, with the possible exception of former Clinton Spinmeister Mike McCurry’s comment that Mormons are often mischaracterized as
snake-eating, serpent-dwelling people. But, you know, that gets overridden by so many role models that exist.  People who know Mormons, people who live in Mormon families. They know what their ethic is.
Snake eating serpent-dwelling? Mike, c’mon. Where are you getting this stuff? Good to know you’ve learned better – I think.
